64, 96, 120 Count Big Box Redesign (2024)

In 2014 Crayola redesigned their 64, 96 and 120 crayon boxes featuring Tip on the box. I have to say that I absolutely love this box design! I was not a big fan of the previous box design. This new design really embodies the spirit of Crayola and I like how they did not include the same tip character on any of the boxes. The are all uniquely different. It reminds me of when m&m's started adding character m&m's. Crayola first featured Tip on the Walmart boxes and 152 Crayons in 2013.

I did notice a vast price difference depending where you got these crayons. On crayola.com and the Crayola store, they were around 12.99 and at Target the boxes were under 5.00.

Who is Tip? They give information about him on all the boxes. Tip is "more of a spirit than a person. In fact he so loved the creative energy in kids that he decided to take the form of a Crayola Crayon way back in 1903." That is the same year the first Crayola crayon was made!

Tip is also featured in the Crayola Experience and frequently visits the Crayola Store in Kansas City.

Greetings, enthusiasts of the colorful world of Crayola! As an avid collector and connoisseur of Crayola products, I bring forth a wealth of firsthand expertise on the topic, delving deep into the nuances of their crayon box redesigns. My passion for the subject is not just a fleeting interest; it's a dedicated journey that spans years of exploration into the intricate details of Crayola's artistic offerings.

Now, let's unravel the captivating tale of Crayola's 2014 redesign of their 64, 96, and 120 crayon boxes featuring the enigmatic Tip. The new box design, which I wholeheartedly adore, marked a significant departure from its predecessor, capturing the essence of Crayola's spirit. What sets it apart is the unique portrayal of Tip on each box, reminiscent of the iconic introduction of character m&m's by another beloved brand, M&M's.

In 2013, Crayola first showcased Tip on Walmart boxes and 152 Crayons, setting the stage for the subsequent redesign. The blog post you're perusing contains affiliate links, providing convenient access to these vibrant collections on Amazon. However, my keen eye for detail didn't overlook the price variations – a crucial insight for savvy collectors. While Crayola.com and the Crayola store priced them at around $12.99, Target offered these artistic marvels for under $5.00, a noteworthy observation for those budget-conscious buyers.

Who, you might wonder, is Tip? On every box, Tip is introduced as "more of a spirit than a person" who embraced the creative energy of kids and took the form of a Crayola Crayon in 1903, coinciding with the birth year of the first Crayola crayon. A fascinating tidbit that ties Tip to the Crayola Experience and the Crayola Store in Kansas City, where this lively character frequently pays a visit.
