6 Ways to Stop Worrying About Money - Time and Pence (2024)

There is nothing worse than worrying about money. It can keep you awake at night, stop you concentrating and affect relationships but there are ways that you can stop stressing. If money worries are constantly on your mind and you want to stop and feel more relaxed, it’s time to do something about it.

Today we will look at six simple things you can do to help yourself now.

1. Write Everything Down

If you are worrying about money, you may be worrying over nothing. Often we can build up things in our mind to be worse than what they actually are. Writing down your incomings and outgoing and where you might be able to make some savings can actually make you feel much better and more in control of your finances.

You’ll be able to see the exact reality of what’s going on rather than building up unnecessary worries in head.

Using a simple budget book like this one may help you to keep a track of your expenses and see on a daily basis how you can improve things to feel better.

6. Want Less

Minimalism is a popular lifestyle choice these days but it doesn’t mean that you have to live in a house with just a sofa and nothing else. Minimalism is also about being mindful of what we want in life and wanting less can create a sense of calm and security in the fact that you don’t need to earn so much money in the first place.

If minimalism appeals to you, there are lots of books written by people who have done it and changed their lives. This is one of my favourites. Even if you decide not to go down that route, it can help to change your mindset about what ‘stuff’ you need in your life.

Hopefully these ways to stop worrying about money will help you to sleep better at night and enjoy life more.
