If you are already working, but still needing more money, here are some creative options for you. Sometimes our hourly pay is not high enough to pay all the bills.
Other times we might be saving for something special, but it is taking too long to get the money you need. Here are 6 great ways to make extra money.
Some of these options are fairly obvious. Others are a lot more creative and you may have not thought of these possibilities.

Use this article as a jumping off point to start thinking creatively about what you enjoy doing.
After all, if we have to work, it is so much better if we love what we do.
Think about how you might be able to fill a local void. What is needed in your neighborhood or town?
If you can fill in that crack, you may be surprised at how much extra income you can make.
1. Take another job
There is always the possibility of taking another job. If you are already working full time, can you add some part time hours to your day?
Even a shift of 4 extra hours two times a week may be a help.
Is there chance of working more hours at your current job? If you can get overtime (and get paid as overtime) you can find the extra money piling up quite quickly.
Some companies offer time and a half for overtime hours.Ask some questions at your job and see if this is a possibility for you.
2. Start a website
If you’re passionate about something, start a website devoted to your passion. Chances are other people love the same thing and want to learn more!
Build your website and then sell advertising space on it. Apply for Adsense to earn some money on advertising.
Join some money making affiliate programs. It will take a while to see returns, but keep working on adding informative material and articles to your website.
Make sure you set up Google Analytics to see how much traffic you are getting and where it is coming from.
You will also be able to see which articles are bringing in the most traffic.

3. Provide child care
If you enjoy children and maybe even have some of your own, providing child care can work very well.
Once you weigh out the costs of working outside of the home OR staying at home with your kids, you will know whether it is even worth it to go out to work.
Why not think about providing child care for one or two children while their parent goes to work? This way, you can stay home with your kids and make some income.
You could even do it on a larger scale and become a licensed day care provider.
Many people love doing this for their career and feel good about providing children with a supportive and loving child care environment.
If you are still working full time away every day, could you do child care on your days off? One of the weekend days you have off?
4. Gather and sell firewood
OK, this may sound a bit out there for some of you. It depends on where you live.If you live in an area where enough people still have wood stoves, you can make very good money selling firewood.
If you already have a truck and a chainsaw, this side gig can really work out. I know people who do this for extra money every weekend. And it’s good money.
Check to see if you need a permit.
You could use your chainsaw and cut one cord of wood a day. Try and get the order before you cut the wood, so you can fill your truck and then drop if off right away.
This way you are not moving wood more often than you need to.
If you live closer to a town or city, think about whether you could cut small amount of firewood for camp fires.
You could look into whether you could do this for state parks as well. Or supply local campgrounds.
How many times have you seen small bundles of wood wrapped in plastic outside of a corner store or campsite office?
And have you seen the high price on those bundles?
5. Make something and sell it
If you’re good with your hands, there are a lot of options! Do you like working with wood?
Make signs or carve address signs for peoples homes? Perhaps fixing furniture?
Do you like making jewelry? Earrings perhaps or necklaces and bracelets? Get creative and sell your creations on sites such as Ebay and Etsy!
6. Take in a renter or boarder
If you have some extra space and own your home, you could think about taking in a renter as a way to reduce your monthly housing costs.
This would be easier if you had a basem*nt that could be rented out.
This way, you would have someone living in your house, but you would not actually have to share the kitchen and living area.
If you don’t have this extra space, you could think of taking in a boarder.
This means living together in a shared space, but you can make this work.
Even better if you are able to provide all meals and even laundry, as you would make more money.
Just make sure you know your rights as a landlord and the rights of your tenant!

There are lots of ways to make extra money. Find out how many extra hours a week you want to work.
Then think about the different ways you can go about earning some extra cash. Working from home is one of the best ways to make extra money.
Especially if you have children; staying at home means not paying child care costs.
That alone is a huge savings. How can you make money at home while your children are there?
Is there something you can do while they have their nap? There are lots of ways you can work from home even while your kids are playing (usually right under your feet).
