This contemporary “tree house” in Austin’s Bouldin Creek neighborhood was the recipient of the prestigious 2018 AIA National Housing Award and the AIA Austin Design Awards. Alterstudio Architecture designed the unique glass box-like structure, which is surrounded by steel, stucco and wood. The sophisticated three-bedroom, three-bathroom home is the perfect combination of elements, thoughtfully executed inside and out. From the street, a custom wall of welded steel and tumbled limestone provides privacy.
