What are the promises of God in the Bible to His followers?

Why do they matter?

How does knowing them change us?

Over the course of the summer, I felt God prompting me often about His promises to me. Sometimes it would be a Bible verse that just popped into my head or a lyric from a worship song or words that leapt off the page while I was reading them. I began to see over and over again the great promises of God in the Bible.

I know my Heavenly Father He has given me so many good gifts–precious promises to give us hope, joy, peace, wisdom and strength for whatever we are facing in our day. It breaks my heart to know that so many Christian women out there are DESPERATE to see those promises fulfilled in their everyday lives.

But they feel unsure of what exactly God has promised them. They’d love to know where and how to find a promise in God’s Word. They feel doubtful if some promises are even for THEM and their messy, ordinary lives. If you’re one of those people, I hope that this list of 40 promises of God in Scripture will encourage your heart today.

God is for you. He loves you. He has given you in the Bible promises meant to bless you in the spiritual, emotional, relational, and physical realms.

How many promises of God are there in the Bible?

In the bookAll the Promises of the Bible, the author Herbert Locklear found 7,147 promises from God to man in the Bible.

That is a lot of promises.

Which leads us to the other end of the spectrum ofhaving an overwhelming amount of promises and not even knowing what to do with them.

That’s why I created my30 Days to Claiming the Promises of God Bible Studycarefully choosing the promises I foundmost powerful for today’s Christian women and spending 30 days immersed and meditating on God’s promises to usin song, Scripture journaling, and Bible reading.

I also break down the ways the prosperity gospel has twisted the promises of God and unpack them in their context so we can fully grasp all that they mean for us in hard times and our daily lives.
